Ending or Beginning?

Backs ‘n’ fronts

Jingle ‘n’ jangle

Swagger ‘n’ style

Open buttons ‘n’ cautious mind

Friday dressing ‘n’ strict no workplace dating

Overtime debriefings ‘n’ late dinners

Blinking lights ‘n’ flashing memories

Shaking hands ‘n’ cordial goodbyes

Biting lower lips ‘n’ arrested breathing

Whispering possibilities ‘n’ rippling fantasies

Teasing ideas ‘n’ contemplating realms

Killing glances ‘n’ last appeals

Moving away ‘n’ moving closer

Is it an ending or a beginning?

Forging ahead  ‘n’ yearning for more…

I race into the light.

I sail away into the sunset.

Am I leaving or arriving?

Is this fading in or                                                                    fading out?

To greener pastures

I  dAnCe On WaTeRs ShImMeRrInG

with last rays of sunlight.

I ride

on wave

after wave

crashing at the shore.

I hide

nestled among           tall trees

Amazed as a child

Yet hesitant to alight

I stand in the corridor

A labyrinth of doors

Do I go

forward or

Left                                                   or                                                right?

I                                                                                            follow the call

I am awash in nature’s colours fresh after rain

I walk on a carpet of grassy greens

Under an almost spotless blue sky

broken only by the calls of overhead birds

broken by the inner chatter of                                          distant thoughts

Fierce winds blow                                                        my hair and resolve

I doubt, I question,

I listen, reassured

I love, I believe

ENDLESS JOURNEY  >>>><<<< one destination

Some thoughts to ponder :

  • The only journey is the one within.-Rainer Maria Rilke
  • All journeys have secret destinations of which the traveler is unaware.-Martin Buber
  • Every person is on a journey. Where you are right now is not your final destination.
  • Have faith in your journey. Everything had to happen exactly as it did to get you where you’re going next! – Mandy Hale
  • Your journey has molded you for your greater good, and it was exactly what it needed to be. Don’t think that you’ve lost time. It took each and every situation you have encountered to bring you to the NOW. And NOW is RIGHT ON TIME.-Asha Tyson
  •  I wandered everywhere through cities and countries wide. And everywhere I went, the world was on my side.
  •  Life is a journey, not so much to a destination, but a transformation.- Jim Britts
  •  It is always our own self that we find at the end of the journey. The sooner we face that self, the better.-Ella Maillart

Back To The Beginning

Back To The Beginning

A minute –

Seems too little,

Sixty seconds –

Are actually enough when one’s centered.

When it becomes difficult to trim down,

Return to the basics,

And begin from the beginning.

Ask the very  elementary questions,

And you will realise the most profound truths.

Stop at the essentials –

It’s laughable how little we really need to be happy.

Dwell a second longer –

“I need this”

“I want that”

Soon: “I must have everything”

And nothing will ever be enough.

Creation is rooted in love,

And love needs no elaboration.

At the end of the day,

What matters most to you?

Just start there- where you want to finish.

Some thoughts to ponder upon:

  • Simplicity is the ultimate form of sophistication.
  • The best things in life are basic.
  • Getting back to basics is the simplest way to find calm in the chaos.
  • The simple things are also the most extraordinary things, and only the wise can see them.-Paulo Coelho
  • Going back to the basics strengthens your foundation.
  • Food, clothing and shelter-these are the basic needs. Beyond that, if you want anything, it is the beginning of self- deception.(U.G Krishnamurti)
  • The wisdom of life consists in the elimination of non-essentials.- Lin Yutang
  • There is more to life than increasing its speed.
  • When I talk of reality, I am always thinking of essentials. Profundity is not located in some remote, inaccessible region. It is rooted in everyday life.-Antoni Tapies
  • It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye.-Antoine de Saint Exupery
  •   The most basic form of human stupidity is forgetting what we are trying to accomplish.- Friedrich Nietzsch

Let me be

Let me be

Don’t applaud,

Don’t like,

Don’t celebrate me,

Don’t give me a medal,

Don’t make me an example,

Don’t thrust greatness upon me,

Many a mighty shoulder have buckled under.

-It changes the way I see myself

– I begin to see myself though your eyes

– I feel I need to earn your appreciation

; Deserve your adoration

– I earn and earn and yet find myself unable to pay the debt

-I spend a lifetime trying to prove myself worthy of your labels

-I try to ‘become’ rather than ‘be’

– I finally convict myself of fraud I did not commit.

You say this way you could reach greater heights,

Otherwise you may just plateau,

I say one can reach dizzying depths too,

A futile chase after an apparition,

An image not of my choosing,

Not mine to begin with,

Hallucinating into a human aberration.

Which is more dangerous?

Let me embark free of expectations,

‘Coz this is a voyage of self –discovery.

Morning Wish

Morning Wish

May you wake up to :

-The smell of fresh coffee brewing; Smell a little deeper

-The first rays of the sun kissing your face; Bask a little longer

-A rose by your bedside; Breathe in the beauty a little longer

-Your loved ones sleeping peacefully; Watch a little longer

-A sleepy adorable voice; Listen a little longer

-Eyes smiling glad to see you; Smile back a little wider

-A hug before you leave; Hug a little tighter

May you take a little longer to see the things you see every day,

Take a moment; It may be the best in your day,

My wish for you is that you be a second late.

The best gift- my love,

Isn’t found in any shop.

It can’t be seen,

It can’t be heard,

It can’t be felt,

It can’t be touched,

It has no length, no breadth, no depth,

It has no past baggage,

No future expectations,

It has no name,

And no identity.

All I can tell you is:

It’s free and freeing,

It’s simple yet striking.

Just make some room,

And some allowances too.

Don’t crowd me out,

‘Coz all I want is,

A piece of you,

That I can make my own,

A place for new memories,

A store for our stories.

Emptying is freeing,

Freeing is fulfilling.

And it all starts with:

[————— – ]

Empty space:

Only you can ]open[ it,

Only you can [close] it.

Growing up, moving on, letting go.

Accepting things for what they are,

It needn’t be all or nothing.

Matters of the human heart:

It’s a puzzle alright,

Every piece will not fit pretty.

Growing up, moving on, letting go.

Sometimes a visit from the past,

Puts the present in perspective,

Feeling glad ‘n’ grateful that fate intervenes.

Growing up, moving on, letting go.

Dreaming open eyed:

Unrealized dreams,

Realizing we no longer want to realize them.

Growing up, moving on, letting go.

Bitter sweet memories,

Letting them be status quo.

Growing up, moving on, letting go.

An Open Road

An Open Road

Life’s a story without an ending,

Good to have an idea where you’re going,

Better to be open to suggestions.

Good to be your leader,

Better to be open to where the road can lead too.

‘Coz the seasoned traveller knows,

Things seldom go exactly as planned,

They’re often better than expected.

It’s good to reach where you want to be,

Better still where you really need to be.

Figure out as you go along,

And life will sneak upon and surprise you,

With magical celestial moments,

When fact becomes better than fiction.

A Narrow Escape

You’ve not been  caught

You’ve not been found out

You’ve been saved by a whisker

You’ve had a narrow escape

I chuckle to my self

Count your blessings

It’s your lucky-lucky day

You’re in the clear now

But my conscience -guilty

Begs to differ

You need to unburden anyway

You need forgiveness

You need to say sorry

And for all the right reasons

So go ahead

Take the first step

Admit ALL the wrongs

And then

Say sorry

It won’t happen again

Face To Face

Baby, how do you feel?

I am listening

But not to your words

I ask only for courtesy sake

‘Coz no matter what you say

I feel what you feel

‘N’ know what you won’t admit knowing

I hear what you’re not saying.

So go ahead darling

Look me in the eye with a lie

Or look away with the truth

I can see through your every poker face

Your lips may say one thing

But your eyes tell another.
