As the name suggests, the book is a collection of letters and poetry(written in English). The letters may be from strangers but they reach out to everybody wherever they are in the universal human experience as they have been written with a lot of soul. Much of the writing feels confessional, honest and raw.

📝 Sharing just some of the words that resonated and stayed with me :

💌 So just choose to stay “one more day” and live it to the fullest

– Palak Gujarathi

💌 We write and read to hear ourselves in the great void of being. And someday, we will find a voice that answers back.

– Ruchira Mandal

💌 Hold on, for there’s always hope. Hold on, for you are here for a reason.

– Anonymous

💌 I am searching for people who will stay till the end. Who will not leave what’s broken, but try to mend.

💌 How are you? How are you, really?

📖 Happy reading!

✍️ Happy writing!

ARE YOU GAME?

“One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten!” I scream blindfolded.

“I’m coming…”

First I bid my true feelings and thoughts to hide from plain sight

They secured themselves in safe nooks of my subconsciousness

Now I am on the prowl, seeking inspiration at leisure

“What’s poetry?”, the teacher asks and I answer

“A  game of hide and seek

For writers and readers alike

The words of the poem echo

Come, play with me!”

Smoke and Fire

Destruction and mayhem

Everything around you is crackling, tumbling, rumbling

Something’s burning alright

Leaping flames everywhere

Smoke and fire

Leaving you breathless

Gasping for air

Huddled up

Reaching out for something

Anything

Clasping for dear life

When all seems lost

I hear someone calling my name

I can barely see the Hand

That pulls me

Out of the pit of dust and smoke

Not a moment too soon

For this is the resurrection of the phoenix

Who riseth from ashes

A KNOCKOUT  ESCAPE

When life takes you by rude surprise

Despite all safety checks

Shocked and numbed

Paranoid with fear

When you can’t understand what’s going on

When you’ve been pushed and pulled from all sides

When all your plans come to a screeching stop

When every door to escape is locked

None seem to open

When the water’s gone way above your head

That sinking feeling

When you’re drowning in the deep

And all out of breath

When all your strength’s long spent

When you’ve given every ounce of fight

And you still find yourself stuck

In a serious jam

Holding on for dear life

No one can hear your screams

The end seems near

Still

I will not go quietly into the night

I will find a way out

I will keep pulling at the chains to set myself free

Even amid crashing worlds

Running out of time

I will die trying!

If need be!

If need be…

Rage, rage against the dying of the light.”

A Royal Companion

Who sniffs out the good from the bad

Licks, licks and licks…always likes the taste of you

Never gets enough of touch touch

His flippity floppy ears

Always listen for His master’s voice

His adorable ways

Force you to make coochie-coo kissy faces

He brings out the child in everyone

And forces a smile to break out on the most sullen face

Always his family ‘s lucky mascot and cheerleader

Indeed

None can show you love, loyalty, kindness and friendship

Like a dog

No matter if he/she be black, brown, grey or white

A pat on the back, a good belly rub& some good food

And

He paws his way into your heart forever

.

.

.

“The world would be a nicer place if everyone had the ability to love as unconditionally as a dog.”

Ray of sunshine

Sleepless nights and noisy days

Who but you?

Can bring a smile to my face on the cloudiest day

Enliven my tired gaze

Soften life’s rough edges

Warm the heart hardened  by the cold ways of the world

Amongst the black, white and greys

You’re my ray of sunshine

Your hand in mine

My hand in thine

And

Knowing no matter what

I’m not alone

That’s enough

.

.

.

“I’ve got sunshine on a cloudy day
When it’s cold outside I’ve got the month of May
Well I guess you’d say
What can make me feel this way?…”

A Safe Haven

In the shadows

Furrowed forehead

When there’s nothing more left to do

When everything’s uncertain

None  can see into the future

There’s no evading the truth

Feeling the midnight blues

Longing for someplace safe

A shelter in the storm

My head bows in surrender

And  I enter His embrace

He holds me closer and tighter

Who knew?!

My safe haven was so close by

Closer than even hands and feet

.

.

.

“…Suddenly I turned around and she was standin’ there
With silver bracelets on her wrists and flowers in her hair
She walked up to me so gracefully and took my crown of thorns
Come in, she said
I’ll give ya shelter from the storm…”

FREEZE THE FRAME

The brown earth

Sprouts a riot of color

Did you smell the roses?

It’s time

Freeze the frame

Don’t look away

Let life surprise you

There’s magic in every moment

In every corner

Let’s bring back

The sparkle in your eye

The dimpled smile on your face

‘Coz

It’s not over

Til it’s over

So

Uncork the tension

Let the bubbly of your soul floweth over

.

.

.

“And above all, watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places. Those who don’t believe in magic will never find it.”
